Comprehensive School Counseling Program

  • The Wisconsin Comprehensive School Counseling Program integrates the nine standards  within  three domains:  personal/social, academic, and career development.  This helps ensure equal opportunity for all students to participate fully in the educational process.

     Personal/Social Development

Students become aware of “Who they are”

      Academic Development

Students find the purpose in learning

      Career Development

Students gain knowledge to know “Where they’re going”

Four Components of the Comprehensive Counseling Program

School Counseling Curriculum:  The curriculum provides awareness, skill development, and life skills systematically to all students in grades K-12.

Individual Planning:  The program assists in planning, monitoring, and managing a student's personal and career development to help build decision-making and goal-setting skills.

Responsive Services:  These services address the immediate concerns of students by providing appropriate prevention and intervention.

System Support:  Support is included in the program by providing staff and school activities to assist in program delivery.
